Become an Academic Advocate Today!As an ABC Academic Advocate, you can enhance your students' education by providing the direction they need to discover and achieve successful careers. As an influential member of your academic institution’s faculty, ABC knows that you value the education your students receive and the direction it gives them in deciding what they will do in their professional careers. Becoming an ABC Academic Advocate gives you access to an abundance of resources that will not only assist your students, but benefit you as well. Encourage your students to prepare themselves for a satisfying career in business. To become an Academic Advocate, please contact and collect an application form. At the end of each school year, Academic Advocates report on their progress via an online questionnaire to be considered for renewal in the program.
ABC Academic Advocate Qualifications The Academic Advocate Program was developed to assist educators in preparing students for rewarding careers in the information systems assurance and control, risk, security, and enterprise governance professions. For your university or college to participate in this program, please submit a letter on official university or college letterhead indicating the courses offered in corporate governance, audit accounting information systems or security; the name of the full-time faculty member willing to serve as the Academic Advocate; why the individual wishes to serve; and the Academic Advocate's application for ABC membership. One Academic Advocate per functional discipline, such as business or accounting, is permitted. |
Responsibilities of an ABC Academic Advocate
- Consider starting an ABC student group on campus, and communicate with the local ABC chapter to encourage student participation in appropriate activities.
- Raise student awareness of the ABC certifications.
- Introduce eBooks and its concepts into the classroom.
